UNIT 3 (Three): LET'S HAVE A PARTY!
In this unit you will do activities to practice countable and uncountable nouns to talk about food and recipes.
LOOK!
Countable nouns are those that can be counted, appearing both in singular and in plural, for example:
one book, two books
few books (pocos libros, connotación negativa, for example: It´s difficult to do the work, I only have few books about the topic.)
a few books (unos cuantos libros, connotación positiva, for example: That library has a few books about your topic of research. Now you can do the work easily.)
one banana, two bananas
one horse, three horses
Uncountable nouns will mostly appear in the singular as the plural either does not exist or is not used. When a great quantity or an idea of plurality has to be expressed, some container or some quantity modifier is used, for example:
a glass of milk
a bag of potatoes
a pound of coffee
a bottle of wine
a lot of rice
a great deal of money
a cup of tea
little money (poco dinero, con una connotación negativa)
a little money (algo de dinero, con connotación positiva)
Now you are ready to do some exercises.
